Battleship Delaware

This great piece of ragtime music was written in 1910 to commemorate Delaware citizen's presentation of silver service for the officers' mess of the battleship Delaware.

Battleship Delaware in Cuba

Battleship Delaware (VI) was launched in 1907. It sailed with the Great White Fleet and served in World War I. The ship was scrapped in 1924. It is shown above in Guantanamo Bay Cuba in 1920.

There have been six vessels named Delaware in the U.S. Navy, starting with the frigate Delaware built in 1775 by the Continental Congress. Go to this site for details on Delaware V6 (BB-28).
